Originally dedicated as the St. Joseph's Orphanage on July 20, 1924, the orphanage served as a home for hundreds of children for 40 years.

In 1978 the orphanage was renovated into St. Joseph Apartments, an apartment complex which provides low income housing for the elderly and/or those with a mobility impairment needing an accessible place to live. St. Joseph is on a bus line and close to several shopping areas, medical facilities and places of worship.

Do you have any available apartments to show prospective applicants?

No. We will do tours of the building by appointment

Is staff in the building after hours?

No staff is on site after 5:00pm, however we have 24hr emergency maintenance service.

Do you offer assisted living? Is there nursing staff that comes on a regular basis?

No, but we do have a social service coordinator who can refer you to several service agencies.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes. Head of household must be 62 years of age or have a doctor verify mobility impairment.

Do you provide transportation to shopping, churches, medical appointments, etc?

No. We are located on a bus line. There is a bus that comes once a week to pick up shoppers from St. Joseph. There are transport services you may apply to and they will come to pick up residents for medical appointments.
