HANDS housing options include general low income housing, senior (age 55+ or 62+ depending on the community), housing for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families, and special needs housing (people with chronic mental illness, physical, or developmental disabilities.
HANDS does not provide emergency housing or temporary housing.
Each HANDS community has its own qualification criteria. This information can be found on our website, our application, or you can call to discuss the qualifications with the property staff.
When you apply at HANDS, provided you meet our income qualifications, you will be placed on the waiting list of your choice. Please note that there is a great need for affordable housing in our community and the majority of our properties have long waiting lists or no availability. Please call the property staff directly for questions regarding waiting lists.
Rents vary and are different by property and program type. This information can be found on our website, our application, or you can call to discuss the rent amount with the property staff.
HANDS operates barrier-free properties which provide accessible, affordable housing for physically disabled residents in an independent living environment. Many of our properties have apartments specifically designed with accessible features. Please contact the property you are interested in for more information about accessibility options.
Each HANDS community has a pet policy. Please contact the property you are interested in directly for more information. Assistance animals are allowed at all HANDS properties.
HANDS accepts all applications for housing. However, we must assess for evictions. Please refer to the individual propertys Resident Selection Criteria for detailed requirements around evictions.

HANDS does not provide housing loans or mortgage assistance.
HANDS does not provide financial rental assistance.
